Type: Full-Time, non-exempt
Salary Range: $18 – $23/hour contingent on meeting the requirements listed below

Bal Swan Children’s Center provides early care and education to children 2 years through 1st grade focused on social -emotional learning in an inclusive environment. Bal Swan provides therapy services in addition to various education programs. Having been a staple in Broomfield for 50 plus years, Bal Swan is one of the only Pyramid demonstration sites in the State of Colorado. To find out more please visit

Bal Swan Children’s Center is seeking candidates who are committed to educational equity, social-emotional teaching, and willing to engage in the hard work it takes to bring positive, impactful change. Responsibilities for the Lead Teacher include:

Lead a classroom of up to 16 children with a co-teacher
Work closely as a teaching team to individualize the curriculum to meet the children’s needs
Support children’s social and emotional needs through the school-wide Pyramid Model approach
Complete ongoing assessments and observations and use the data to inform instruction
Work as a team to complete parent/teacher conference and home visits
Encourage and support family involvement in the classroom
Create a safe and healthy learning environment
Supervise the safety of the children in care
Supervise volunteers and student interns as applicable



Collaborate with the mentor coach and the therapy team
Communicate with coworkers and families in a warm and professional manner
Required and preferred qualifications:

BA/MA in Early Childhood Education OR
BA/MA in an unrelated field with a minimum of 30 credits in ECE

Completed PPA Training and/or extensive knowledge and background in social-emotional teaching
Demonstrated teaching skills, as displayed by a minimum of 2 years of experience in the classroom
Demonstrated professionalism and ability to use appropriate communication and management skills including excellent writing ability
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, lead, and model exemplary instructional practices
Understanding of adult learning and demonstrated ability to provide instructional support to others and adult learning principles
Ability to work full time, Monday through Friday
