Under the direction of the Dean of Business, Technology, and Education, the Associate Dean of Education and Human Services provides leadership and management for ACC’s Early Childhood and Elementary Education academic programs and the Child Development Center. The Associate Dean serves as an instructional leader advocating for student success. The individual will maintain a commitment to quality instruction and implement a vision of student success, strategic growth, and continuous improvement. Demonstrable evidence in achieving the institution’s vision and upholding instruction’s mission and guiding principles are cornerstones of this position. Additionally, this position requires someone who holds teamwork in the highest of regard in working directly with teachers, faculty, students, and staff for all college divisions. This position, in conjunction with the other Instructional leadership, will assist with prioritization of instructional strategies and the future of instruction based on current and emerging needs.
The Associate Dean will be responsible for the vision, mission, and operations of the Child Development Center (CDC) and ACC’s academic programming in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. The individual will lead teachers and faculty toward integration, alignment, and implementation of best practices and curriculum between the Child Development Center and our education programs. The Associate Dean will work directly with teachers, faculty, department and program chairs/directors, deans, and college division directors to create an environment that values and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion. Programmatic areas may change over time as we further develop pathways and programs to meet the needs of our community.
The Associate Dean will be responsible for managing the CDC budget while sustaining a service-oriented and innovative center to support the community, teaching, and learning. This position will lead and supervise two full-time faculty members, one director, and work collaboratively with instruction, student services, and administrative staff to establish an environment supportive of all instructional initiatives.
