The Department of Human Development and Family Studies at CSU seeks applications throughout the year from individuals who are interested in obtaining non-tenure track teaching positions within the CSU Early Childhood Center (ECC) working with young children between the ages of 6 weeks to 6 years. ECC teachers adhere to the mission, policies, and procedures of the ECC as well as State of Colorado licensing requirements and NAEYC accreditation standards while implementing a Reggio Emilia-inspired approach.
These are full-time, 12-month appointments with full benefits and competitive salaries. The role of a Mentor Teacher is to provide management of the classroom, supervision of intern and practicum students, and guidance of Classroom Teachers and Assistant Teachers. The role of a Classroom Teacher is to work with a Mentor Teacher to provide management of the classroom and guidance of Assistant Teachers.
Minimum qualifications for ECC teaching positions include a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline and a minimum of 6 months (910 hours) of experience in education settings with young children.
Preferred qualifications for a Mentor Teacher include an ECE teaching license, a master’s degree in an appropriate discipline, or a Colorado Early Childhood Professional Credential of IV or above.
