Stacy Buchanan is Vice President of Programs at Qualistar Colorado. Stacy oversees Qualistar’s work in assessment, professional development and training, and health, safety & wellness. She is responsible for ensuring Qualistar’s programs maintain a statewide presence and provide targeted services to early care and education professionals. Stacy helps to ensure Qualistar’s advocacy and advancement priorities promote best practices within the field. Stacy began her career at Qualistar when she joined the T.E.A.C.H. scholarship program in its infancy in 1999. She led the formation and expansion of Qualistar’s capital grants program for nonprofit child care facilities. Stacy then served as Director of Child Care Resource & Referral, managing a statewide network of regional offices that support ECE programs and families. As Vice President of Information Stacy used Qualistar’s information and data to create original research, including Qualistar’s Signature Report, an annual, independent analysis of Colorado’s child landscape. She also spearheaded original research on child care affordability. Stacy has a bachelor’s degree from Montana State University and a master’s degree in educational administration from the University of Denver, and is a 4th year Buell Early Childhood Leadership Program Fellow.
