I have been in the ECE field for close to forty years with almost twenty-five of those years at Pikes Peak Community College starting as a toddler and preschool classroom teacher and then director. I was the leader of a child care task force at PPCC that resulted in two Child Development Centers that are funded in large part by student fees and primarily serve children of students in infant, toddler and preschool classrooms. I currently oversee both centers which are NAEYC accredited. I also spent many years as a family child care provider and an advocate, consultant and trainer for family child care on a local, state and national level including graduate seminars at Wheelock College. I was privileged to be a part of the first Buell cohort which led to obtaining my Master's degree at DU.
